Melbourne Cup placed Lucas Cranach who was retired to stand at stud at Bullarook Park has sadly passed away.
Lucas Cranach was bought by Australian Bloodstock to target the Melbourne Cup in which he ran third behind Dunaden sadly passed away following a freak accident whilst standing at stud.
Lucas Cranach was one of the world’s best racehorses at the time, winning 6 races (and 2 placings) from just 12 lifetime starts in the best company earning almost $1 million.
Lucas Cranach in Australia won the G2Peter Young Stakes at his final start defeating crack performers Illo, Manighar, Glass Harmonium, Southern Speed, Mourayan, Efficient, Zavite etc. At his previous start he finished a close third in the Melbourne Cup.
