A 24-year-old male has been charged and will face court this week after he was arrested at Trentham racecourse on Saturday.
Television cameras caught a male patron walking on to the straight at Trentham racecourse and stopping in front of horses as they were at full speed heading towards the finish line.
New Zealand Police say a 24-year-old man was arrested and has since been charged with criminal nuisance for doing an act endangering public safety.
Released on bail, he is due to appear in the Hutt Valley District Court this coming Thursday.
