The upset winner of Saturday’s Australian Guineas, Lunar Fox could be headed to the $5m All Star Mile with the Group One win set to elevate him in selectors order of entry.
Lunar Fox took out the Group One Australian Guineas at Flemington on Saturday at odds of $301 and trainer Paul Preusker is contemplating tackling the rich All Star Mile with his G1 winner or heading to Sydney.
“We’ve got him in the All-Star Mile and we’ve got him in Sydney as well, he’s got such a great temperament, we’ll sit down with all the connections today and map out what really is priority.” Preusker told RSN927’s Correct Weight program on Sunday morning.
“He’s certainly going to improve again off a good tough run and having a go, they come off fit once they chip in, so he’s entitled to improve again fitness wise. Hopefully we draw the right path.”
Prior to his win in the Australian Guineas bookmakers did not have him in their markets but are set to rearrange the All Star Mile betting this week as the picture becomes clearer as to who will line-up in the race.
Bookmakers however were quick to shorten the horse in Rosehill Guineas and Randwick Guineas markets where he is now a $21 chance.
Star Of The Seas cemented his spot in the All Star Mile field after taking out the G2 Blamey Stakes.
