Luke Nolen won’t be riding Constantinople in the Melbourne Cup with The Everest-winning jockey Glen Boss to ride the new race favourite.
Nolen steered Constantinople home for an eye-catching fourth in Saturday’s Caulfield Cup after finding interference approaching the home turn and again early in the straight.
“He was terrific.” Nolen said following the Caulfield Cup.
“It was just a muddling run race and with a big striding horse, it was just against us a bit from an inside draw.”
“Look at the silver lining, he doesn’t get a penalty for the Melbourne Cup and he’ll be suited at Flemington.”
Constantinople’s odds firmed from $12 into $7.00 in Melbourne Cup betting following his fourth place finish in the Caulfield Cup.
Glen Boss guided three-year-old colt Yes Yes Yes to victory in Saturday’s The Everest at Randwick.
Constantinople will carry 52.5kg in the Melbourne Cup 2019.
