Racing Victoria has announced that the seven Cranbourne stables that had been on lockdown due to a COVID-19 scare can resume training from Monday.
The stables of Richard Laming, Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young, Wendy Kelly, Nathan Dunn, Michael Trotter, Adrian McGregor and Tom Nikolic went into lockdown on Friday night after a stable hand from Richard Laming’s stables tested positive to COVID-19 on Thursday.
βI want to thank all of the impacted stables and their staff for their swift actions since Friday night and their willingness to make important sacrifices for the benefit of the industry during that period.
βI also want to extend the best wishes of all within the industry to the stablehand that has tested positive to the virus. Our welfare staff are engaged with the individual and will continue to support them throughout the coming weeks. Racing Victoria’s Giles Thompson told Racing.com.
