Connections of Melbourne Cup contender Marmelo care likely to take legal action over the withdrawal of their horse from Tuesday’s race.
Australian part owner of Marmelo Ozzie Kheir is seeking legal action over the controversial scratching of the horse from the 2019 Melbourne Cup with trainer Hugh Morrison adamant the horse is fine.
Trainer Hugh Morrison has been outspoken about the process of the withdrawal in which his horse was ordered out of the Melbourne Cup after a CT scan showed he had incomplete fractures in his near fore and off hind cannon bones.
“We feel the whole process has been totally unjustified and extremely badly handled. We’ve had very little time to respond.”
