Peter Moody believes Le Societe is a spring filly but he is looking for confirmation of that at Sandown on Saturday.

The daughter of Anabaa impressed with a 4-1/4 length win on debut over 1000m at Sandown last month and is expected to go on with the job in the Jim Conway Hcp (1200m).

“She’s a very good filly,” Moody summed up.

“I just wasn’t sure under the (heavy 10) conditions but thankfully she handled them and came through it well.

“It’s against all my principles running a two-year-old filly second-up 10 days from her first to second run ever off heavy ground.

“But she’s thrived and I’m just keen to get some more prizemoney beside her name before having a let-up for the spring because I think she’s going to be a spring filly.”

Moody also has More Than Ready filly Passilente, a Cranbourne two-year-old maiden winner on debut in January who ran fourth to Jackpot Queen over 1000m at Flemington last month, in the race.

“She just got lost up the straight the other day. She’s a filly I also have spring ambitions for although she’s still very immature,” he said.

Le Societe has already been well supported and is $2 favourite with TAB Sportsbet ahead of Group Three Blue Diamond Preview placegetter Graskop at $4, Morphettville winner Zippa The Rippa at $7, with Caulfield runner-up Gig and first starter Revidere at $8.50.

Revidere, prepared by Mike Moroney, is a sister to Group Three VRC Gilgai Stakes winner and Group One Galaxy runner-up Fast `n’ Famous.

The Redoute’s Choice filly was a $200,000 yearling purchase.

The race has already been reduced to a seven-horse field with three scratchings including Makybe Diva’s second foal La Dolce Diva, trained by Mark Kavanagh, who will now make her debut on the Geelong synthetic track next Thursday.

Also scratched were the Bernie Howlett-trained Party Dress and the Mick Price-trained Kitty Cotswold.

The Sandown Lakeside track was on Friday rated a slow (6).
