There has been a late twist to the Field for the 2019 Caulfield Cup with the Waterhouse/Bott trained Wolfe winning the Coongy Cup.
Wolfe was one of two horses still eligible to run in Saturday’s Caulfield Cup but he had to win the Coongy today which he has meaning he will gain automatic entry into the Field for the $5m Caulfield Cup.
Wolfe will give Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott their only runner in this years Caulfield Cup field.
Wolfe was $101 in Caulfield Cup odds prior to the Coongy Cup but has been turned into $26 with BetEasy.
