Front Page, the reigning Kosciuszko champion, will have a new trainer as Matthew Dale takes over the reins from the recently retired Geoff Duryea.
Dale expressed his excitement about the opportunity to train the top sprinter and confirmed that Front Page will make his first appearance under his guidance in the $2 million country feature on Everest Day.
Dale described Front Page as a high-class sprinter and acknowledged his solid performances in Group races.
He also mentioned the importance of gathering information about the horse from Duryea to stay ahead of the game.
“It’s a good result. We’ve been talking to Paul, the managing owner, over the last few days and we’re rapt he’s elected to carry on.” Dale said.
“He’s a very likely selected Kosciuszko horse, as usually those top five in the market are. It’s a privilege to get him to train and we’re looking forward to it.”
Front Page, currently priced at $6 in Ladbrokes all-in Kosciuszko market, has raced five times since his Kosciuszko win last year.
Dale expressed his respect for the horse’s ability and mentioned that he will leave no stone unturned in understanding Front Page’s quirks and preferences both before and after his arrival at the stable.
