Apprentice Fred Kersley will have precautionary X-rays on an arm following a fall from Foudre Boulon at Sandown.
Kersley fell from the mare who broke down near the 300m mark of the Clanbrooke Racing Handicap on Wednesday.
He returned to the jockeys’ room with his arm in a sling and said he would go for precautionary X-rays to get the all-clear to ride at Moonee Valley on Saturday.
“There’s a bit of bruising there so I just want to make sure,” Kersley said.
Racing Victoria apprentice jockeys’ coach Darren Gauci described Kersley as one tough kid.
Kersley was replaced on his remaining four rides at Wednesday’s meeting while Foudre Boulon was euthanaised.
Kersley is the grandson of West Australian harness racing legend and multiple Group One winning thoroughbred trainer Fred Kersley and is in Melbourne on loan to Lindsay Park.
