Jockey Jim Byrne has broken his leg in a fall following the Listed Phelan Ready Stakes which was rescheduled onto today’s Doomben meeting.
Jim Byrne was aboard Kavak who ran second in the Phelan Ready Stakes but was dislodged past the winning post.
Byrne was taken to hospital following the incident with scans confirming he has broken his leg and will be sidelined for up to six months.
