Jedibeel has secured a slot in the $5 million Quokka at Ascot and will represent Trackside NZ and Perth Racing in Western Australia’s richest race.
Prepared by Brad Widdup, the gelding heads west in strong form after finishing runner-up in the Group 1 Galaxy at Rosehill last Saturday, following a fourth placing in the Oakleigh Plate.
Bred in New Zealand and by Savabeel, Jedibeel brings a trans-Tasman flavour to the field. Sydney jockey Tyler Schiller has been confirmed to take the ride in the Quokka.
The gelding has amassed $1.9 million in prizemoney and will be among a group of interstate runners travelling to Perth via charter flight on April 10.
The 2026 edition of the Quokka will be staged at Ascot on April 18.
Punters looking to back runners in the Quokka can compare markets and promotions across the leading Australian betting sites to secure the best available odds.
