As stable foreman to Adam Durrant, Miller witnessed firsthand Mr Moet’s surprising victory in 2012.
Mr Moet started at $20, but was backed in after as much as $100 was on offer in various markets.
On Saturday, Miller is offered the opportunity of saddling his own Railway Stakes contender and hopes for another upset with his outsider, Naughty By Nature.
Milleris aiming high with Naughty By Nature, a talented five-year-old who earned her shot at the Railway Stakes after a career peak when last in work.
After five placings in black-type events including a second to Tuscan Queen in the WA Oaks (2400m), Naughty By Nature won the Group 3 Strickland Stakes (2000m).
Miller concedes Naughty By Nature faces a massive task to elevate at the elite level, but believes her chances were improved after she drew barrier 12.
“I think that’s a pretty good gate for her,” Miller said on Tabradio.
“She’s gonna get back and be in the back half of the field.
“I don’t see it as any drama and if anything, it might be a bit helpful.
“We all know the Railway is a high pressure race and if you draw inside and are going back it’s quite easy to get shuffled back and pressured out of it.
“I think it’s a good barrier for her and it will suit her.”
Naughty By Nature goes into the Railway Stakes after two runs back.
She ran on to be placed fifth in the Northerly Stakes (1400m) and filled the exact placing when closer to the front in the Asian Beau Stakes (1400m) behind Railway Stakes hot favourite, Western Empire.
“The Northerly I thought was a really good run,” Miller said.
“For the tempo of the race I thought she made up good ground, her sectional was good.
“Besides Regal Power I thought she was probably the second or third best run in the race.
“In the Asian Beau there didn’t appear to be too much pace and she was a lot closer than what she normally is.
“It took a toll on her and she was out of her comfort zone, but I thought she still did a pretty good job to stick on like she did.”
Naughty By Nature is $61 in current Tabtouch markets and will be ridden by Jordan Turner.
