Peter Moody, renowned trainer and former trainer of champion mare Black Caviar, is set to test the waters with Black Caviar’s daughter, Invincible Caviar, as she makes her return to racing in a stakes race on Saturday.
The four-year-old mare, sired by I Am Invincible, has been accepted to run in the Listed Bel Esprit Stakes at Sandown over a distance of 1000 meters. Drawn in barrier two, Invincible Caviar will be ridden by jockey Linda Meech.
Peter Moody has carefully managed Invincible Caviar’s progression, taking a cautious approach with the talented mare. With four wins from six career starts, including a victory at Flemington in December, she was subsequently spelled to allow for a period of rest and development.
In Saturday’s race, Invincible Caviar will face stiff competition from eight other contenders. Esteemed performers such as Esta La Roca and recent winner Pintoff will carry top weights and pose formidable challenges in the race.
