The Shorts winner I Am Me will join stablemate Bella Nipotina in The Everest after being confirmed to represent the slot held jointly by Arrowfield Stud and The Star Entertainment Group.
Owners Dynamic Syndications confirmed the news on Thursday, saying the mare would go straight to the October 19 feature without another run.
“I Am Me has come through her last start victory extremely well and will arrive at the TAB Everest third-up for her preparation, which has historically seen her peak performances,” Dynamic Syndications said in a statement.
“It is also with great delight that we confirm Nash Rawiller has been booked for the ride.”
The winner of the Sydney Stakes (1200m) on The Everest undercard 12 months ago, I Am Me underlined her claims to a spot in this year’s showpiece with a first-up victory over Bella Nipotina in the Concorde Stakes (1000m).
She showed that was no flash in the pan with another tough performance to win The Shorts (1100m) at Randwick last weekend.
She gives trainer Ciaron Maher a second Everest runner, joining Bella Nipotina who will line up in the slot held by the TAB.
I Am Me is the third horse confirmed for The Everest this week along with Stefi Magentica (Newgate and GPI Racing) and Joliestar (Chris Waller Racing).
