Golden Rose 2016 contender disappointing in trial

Golden Rose contender Yankee Rose who had suffered an injury scare looks to have bounced back after a a rather disappointing trial at the Sunshine Coast this morning.

Yankee Rose came from 4 lengths off leaders to be beaten a neck in the trial over 1270m.

Yankee Rose once held favouritism for the Golden Rose but her injury scare has seen her drift to $13 in markets.

Trainer David Vandyke said her trial was disappointing although if she comes through it okay she will still line up in the Golden Rose next Saturday.
