Champion jockey Glen Boss, who rode a winner and four placings at Wednesday’s Betfair Park meeting, looks to be in for a big weekend when he returns home to Queensland on Saturday for the $4.3 million Magic Millions raceday.

But the work still has to be done in Victoria on Friday night at Moonee Valley where he is booked to ride in five races.

The first of those rides is Riviere, who goes around in the first. This filly, trained by Robert Smerdon, was a heavily backed favourite at Yarra Valley when making her debut last start when beaten a nose by Gloria’s Peak. She was her own worst enemy by running all over the place but with that run under her belt and with the aid of a weak race, she should go close.

Two For Tea will go around in the 3000m race. The Gai Waterhouse trained gelding was impressive when leading throughout over 2600m at Gosford. He will be up on the speed and well…we know how good Bossy is on stayers.

I would only consider Cinderella’s Prince as a rough place hope. He does appear to have some ability but I don’t think he is city class.

My Dream Catcher looked in need of the run first up at Betfair Park when finishing well back. She might need this as well but she loves rain affected ground so if the heavens open up, definitely include her.

Sylconi ran a good race last start behind From The Terrace, who ran a cracking race at Caulfield last Saturday. Drops in weight and from the good barrier, he should get the run of the race and prove hard to beat.

Overall, he has a good book of rides on Friday night and is worthy of a Jockey Challenge ticket.

For big racedays, you need big race riders. The first name you think of is Glen Boss and he has a solid book of rides on the big Magic Millions card.

Speeding To Win is without doubt the best horse in the MM maiden having placed in nine of his ten career starts. Looked good in a recent barrier trial and if he can overcome the awful barrier, he’ll win.

Bossy will again combine with Gai to steer Fusakeo in the Stayers Cup. Bumped into a nice one in Lone Command last start when carrying 58.5kg. Drops to the minimum of 53kg here and should cross over to lead and prove awfully hard to beat.

Not A Snip A Doubt is second emergency in the MM Sprint but if he gains a start, he is worth something each-way off the back of a solid first up placing and a stylish trial win over Graceful Anna. It isn’t a strong edition of this race so I wouldn’t rule him out.

Bossy won the MM Cup on Walking Or Dancing last year and he should win it here with Epsom winner Captain Sanador who looked very impressive in the Goldmarket. Only has to cope with the wet track to blitz these.

I’m very keen on Intencion in the MM Guineas. He is second emergency but I liked his run last Saturday. He was winding up strongly at the end and it had “back me next start” written all over it. Not a vintage edition of this classic and he is the class horse having contested the good races during the spring.

Bossy will either ride Fast And Sexy or Ingham Magic in the MM Classic. Fast And Sexy was a strong winner last week while Ingham Magic was solid behind Pepper Jet. Both horses are great chances.

Retrospect hasn’t won past 1200m but he has the draw to get a soft run and run a cheeky race at odds while General Secretary was impressive last start at Eagle Farm. Has to rise in class and has the horror barrier
