Cool Archie, Queensland’s Two-Year-Old Horse Of The year has been officially retired to stud.
The star QLD colt bypassed the Spring with eyes on an Autumn campaign however an injury leading into the Gold Edition Plate has proven to be worse than first thought with the connections of the son of Cool Aza Beel opting to retire the horse immediately.
Owner Max Whitby confirms the star colt will now head to the breeding barn following a sensational 2YO season!
Cool Archie ticked off his maiden over 1200m on a Heavy track in April before going on a devastating run which included victories in the Listed Dalrello (1000m), the Group 2 Champagne Classic (1200m), the Group 2 Sires’ Produce (1400m) and Group 1 JJ Atkins (1600m).
