Group 1 winner El Patroness has sadly passed away after suffering a heart attack while exiting the horse pool at Flemington on Sunday.
Trained by Danny O’Brien, the mare had won the Group 1 Australian Oaks in 2022 and accumulated nearly $1.25 million in prizemoney.
In her most recent outing, El Patroness secured third place in the Let’s Elope Stakes behind Amelia’s Jewel and Life Lessons.
El Patroness was set to run in Saturday’s Group 1 Might And Power Stakes (2000m).
