Group One placegetter Libran has sadly died in a trackwork accident on Tuesday in preparation for his run in the Brisbane Cup.
Libran was working at the Gold Coast ahead of his start in Saturday’s Group Two Brisbane Cup at Eagle Farm when the former UK stayer broke down and was humanely euthanised.
The Chris Waller trained galloper won four times whilst in Australia and placed at Group One level in the Sydney Cup and ran eight in the Melbourne Cup behind Rekindling in 2017.
