Bold Bastille, owned by Ozzie Kheir, is set to go up for auction next week through a boutique Inglis Digital sale. Trained by Lindsay Park, this talented daughter of Brazen Beau made waves as a two-year-old, winning four of her first five starts, including three at Listed level. She impressed on debut with a win over future Blue Diamond winner Hayasugi.
Now three years old, Bold Bastille is being offered as both a racing and breeding prospect. Her lineage is promising, with her dam, Stakes winner Chloe In Paris, and her granddam, the highly rated Innovation Show, both excelling as broodmares. Trainer Ben Hayes praised her qualities, saying, “She’s incredibly fast, powerful, with a great build and very straightforward to train. She’s sound and recently raced well, with plenty of potential left if her new owner wishes to continue racing her.”
Mathew Becker of Group 1 Bloodstock, who acquired Bold Bastille for $270,000 last year, sees her as an exceptional broodmare prospect. “Her debut win was stunning, and her form has been top-notch,” Becker said. “Like with our top fillies, we bring them to the market as elite breeding prospects, and Bold Bastille is no exception.”
Becker emphasised the commercial value of early speed and good looks, traits Bold Bastille embodies, making her a likely producer of early two-year-old talent. “With her strong pedigree and impressive family line, she has all the makings of a valuable broodmare,” he added.
