Yankee Rose has been retired
A dual Group 1 winning mare is set to be retired after connections have decided to put her up for sale.
The G1 Inglis Sires and Spring Champion Stakes winner Yankee Rose has run her last race after a disappointing run in the Memsie Stakes.
Yankee Rose was a non acceptor in Saturday’s Makybe Diva Stakes and syndicator Darby Racing has announced she has run her last race and will be offered for sale as a broodmare.
The decision comes as she had pulled up lame in a gallop on Wednesday morning, Yankee Rose returned in the Memsie Stakes which was her first run since injuring herself in the VRC Oaks during the Spring last year where she jumped as the short priced favourite.
Yankee Rose has won twice at G1 level as well as running third in last years Cox Plate behind Winx.
