Damien Oliver has been engaged to ride the Danny O’Brien-trained filly Shamrocker in the Group One Rosehill Guineas on Saturday week.
The last-start Group One Australian Guineas (1600m) winner worked the right-handed Sydney way at Flemington on Tuesday morning.
Shamrocker was ridden by Glen Boss when she won the Australian Guineas at Flemington on March 5 but Oliver, who hasn’t ridden the O’Reilly filly before in a race, takes over the reins at Rosehill.
Shamrocker had been nominated for two races in Melbourne later this week, receiving 60kg in the Fillies And Mares Hcp (2040m) at Moonee Valley on Friday night and 63.5kg in the Super Vobis Three-Year-Old Fillies Hcp (1600m) at Caulfield on Saturday.
Stablemate and Group One-placed Placement is entered for the same Caulfield race.
Placement is set to break her maiden status after being placed in seven of her 13 starts.
With Shamrocker not to run, Placement (56.5kg) will be equal topweight with the Lee Freedman-trained Exchanges.
Placement resumed with a three-quarter length second to Almindoro in a 1519m maiden under lights at Moonee Valley on February 11.
It was an encouraging effort as the stewards reported the Savabeel filly jumped awkwardly and lost a plate.
She was scratched from the Group Two Fillies Classic (1600m) won by the unbeaten Lights Of Heaven at Moonee Valley on March 4.
Last spring, Placement was runner-up to Brazilian Pulse in the Group Two Wakeful Stakes (2000m) and then finished third to Brazilian Pulse and Shamrocker in the Group One VRC Oaks (2500m), both at Flemington, before going for a spell.
Meanwhile, the Mick Kent-trained Blackie and the Colin Davies-trained Stanzout are both entered for Saturday’s Caulfield and Rosehill meetings.
Blackie, chasing his fourth successive win, is nominated for the Super Vobis Three-Year-Old Hcp (1400m) at Caulfield and the Group Two Phar Lap Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill.
Formerly prepared in New Zealand, the Black Minnaloushe three-year-old gelding won narrowly over The Ruffian over 1300m at Sandown last Wednesday.
Davies said he was very happy with the way Stanzout had returned from a spell and pleased him when second to Miss Octopussy in a Cranbourne 800m barrier trial last week.
Stanzout received topweight of 59.5kg in the 1000m Handicap at Caulfield and is weighted to carry 56.5kg in the Listed Maurice McCarten Stakes (1100m) at Rosehill.
