The fate of Champion sprinter Chautauqua is set to be decided today with stewards saying it is his final chance to show he can continue racing.
Chautauqua has failed to jump in his past six barrier trials as he tries to secure a barrier certificate and return to racing although another failed attempt will mean Racing NSW stewards will knock back any further nominations from the horse.
Racing NSW stewards have been straight forward with connections saying anything less than a satisfactory barrier trial will mean the horse will no longer be allowed to race.
Connections however have not ruled out heading overseas with the horse if he fails to jump and receives a ban in Australia.
The barrier trial will be conducted over 1000m between Races 3 and 4 and Rosehill or approx 1:28pm with Sky Racing set to broadcast it live pending delays at other venues.
