Victorian trained filly Crystal Lily has beaten the best 2yo’s in the country to claim the $2.5m dollar race.Crystal Lily’s connection who paid the $150,000 late entry fee where rewarded when she produced an amazing effort to beat the rest of the field by lengths even though she pulled to the outside rail.

From barrier one and having one of the best jockeys in the world at present Brett Prebble, she camped just off the lead on the rails and sat quitely until the 200m mark when Prebble produced her run she quickly passed the leaders and won running away from the rest of the field.
Both Decision Time and More Strawberries produced fantastic runs but where unable to match the Melbourne filly on the day, whom came into the race with the quickest time over 1200m.
