Just when we thought NSW had pretty much exorcised this evil virus, the golf course near Randwick has been targeted.
On the eve of tomorrow’s outstanding race card at Randwick, NSW Health has sent a direct message to all racing fans, who may have been near the golf course where a Covid positive has just been found.
NSW Health has advised that all persons who were in attendance at New Brighton Golf Club on 28 August between 6:15pm and 12:20am are to immediately self-isolate until a full assessment of the venue can be completed.
Racing NSW, conscious of wanting/needing to keep protocols in place, is directing that:
1. Any person who attended or any person that is considered a close contact (lives with or has had close contact of more than 15 minutes) of any person that has attended the New Brighton Golf Club on 28 August 2020 between 6:15pm and 12:20am must not attend a licensed venue or stables or any racecourse until further notice and must self-isolate. Further, those persons must immediately report their attendance or close contact to Racing NSW Stewards and obtain a COVID-19 test, the results of which are to be reported to Stewards.
2. Any person who attended the New Brighton Golf Club on 28 August 2020 at any time other than between 6:15pm and 12:20am must not attend a licensed venue or stables or any racecourse until a negative COVID-19 test is provided to Racing NSW Stewards before returning to a licensed venue or stables or racecourse. Further, those persons must immediately report their attendance at the Golf Club on 28 August 2020 to Racing NSW Stewards.
Trainers are directed to question all staff to ascertain if any employee has attended New Brighton Golf Club during the specified period. Any person that has been in attendance on 28 August 2020 must adhere to the conditions above.
