Jockey Corey Brown has said he could be out of the saddle for over a year following his fall on Saturday at Eagle Farm.
The Melbourne Cup winning jockey was taken to a Brisbane hospital after his mount, Lord Arthur, broke a back leg and fell in the Queensland Derby on Saturday.
Brown suffered a cracked sternum and a punctured lung in the fall and had to undergo surgery on a fractured T7 vertebra over the weekend.
“I’ve got a cracked sternum and a punctured lung. I’m finding it hard to breathe. That’s why it sounds like I’m about to cry.” Brown said on RSN
Despite the extent of the injuries and the long recovery time he is adamant to get back in the saddle and ride more winners.
