Champion sprinter and fan favourite Chautauqua will be given a farewell at Flemington on Saturday.
The VRC will give racing fans an opportunity to farewell one of the most popular horses in the country on Saturday with ‘The Grey Flash’ to be paraded in the mounting yard between Races 3 and 4.
Chautauqua was retired on Friday night after he again failed to jump in an official trial at Moonee Valley in which connections hoped would give him clearance to return to racing.
The Hawkes trained sprinter won six Group Ones including an infamous win in Hong Kong and retires with more than $8.8 million in earnings.
Winx will be the main drawcard to the Flemington meeting as she looks to continue her winning streak in the Group One Turnbull Stakes.
