Alligator Blood is set to make one more appearance this spring, with training partnership of Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott yet to decide whether it will be the Champions Mile, a race he won last year, or the Champions Stakes at Flemington on November 11.
Waterhouse confirmed that the talented gelding would be competing on Championship Day, leaving the final choice of race to Adrian Bott and Alligator Blood’s owners. Following this race, Alligator Blood will be given a well-deserved break.
After a remarkable spring campaign that included two Group 1 victories and top-four finishes in three other Group 1 races from five starts, Waterhouse expressed her admiration for the horse’s achievements this season. She considers Alligator Blood to be an exceptional horse and feels privileged to be a part of his training team.
