Champion jockey Jim Cassidy has survived a head on car crash in which he thought he was going to die.
Cassidy was driving in Sydney’s north-west when a car allegedly veered onto the wrong side of the road and collided head on with the retired jockeys car.
The two time Melbourne Cup winner suffered bleeding on the brain and bruising to his body during the accident but is set to make a quick recovery.
Although Cassidy did not think he was going to survive when the incident happened, he told the Herald from his hospital bed βI thought I was dead, I donβt know how I got out of it the way I did but I did.β
