The second emergency for Saturday’s Caulfield Cup has been scratched from the St Leger Stakes in Sydney in hope the horse will get a run in the $5m handicap.
Neufbosc is the second emergency for the 2019 Caulfield Cup but had also accepted into the field for the St Leger Stakes at Randwick but connections have opted to take the gamble the horse will get a start in the $5m Caulfield Cup.
New Zealand stayer Crown Prosecutor is under an injury cloud leading into the race which could have prompted Neufbosc’s connections to make the decision to head to Melbourne.
Sound is currently the first emergency for the Caulfield Cup.
Neufbosc was a $21 chance in the St Leger Stakes and is $101 for the Caulfield Cup.
