Broadsiding will not race on as a four-year-old, with Darley announcing on Tuesday morning that the son of Too Darn Hot would be joining its stallion roster for 2025.
The James Cummings-trained colt bows out a winner of seven of his 15 starts, the last of which was a 10th placing in last Saturday’s Group 1 All Aged Stakes, won by Jimmysstar.
That followed victory in the Group 1 Rosehill Guineas (2000m), which was one of four Group 1 victories.
He also won the 1400m Golden Rose last spring, having won the Champagne Stakes and J J Atkins at 1600m as a two-year-old.
Broadsiding will stand at Darley’s Kelvinside property in the Hunter Valley at a fee of $66,000, including GST.
He will be joined by another rising four-year-old, dual Group 2 winner and two-time Group 1 placegetter Traffic Warden, who will stand for $22,000.
Too Darn Hot, Anamoe, Harry Angel and Bivouac are among the others available at Kelvinside, while Street Boss again headlines the roster at Northwood Park in Seymour and Darley’s head of stallions Alastair Pulford is delighted with the team it has compiled.
“This is an outstanding group of stallions – a world-class line-up,” he said.
“The results they’ve achieved this year, both in the yearling market and on the racetrack, have been incredibly encouraging.
“These fees reflect the success we’ve seen and have been set with breeders firmly in mind.”
Too Darn Hot had previously been announced at a fee of $275,000, while Anamoe is available for $110,000 after standing his first two seasons at $121,000, Harry Angel has risen from $38,500 to $66,000 and Bivouac is unchanged at $55,000.
Pinatubo ($38,500), Native Trail ($27,500) and Victor Ludorum ($11,000) round out the Kelvinside roster.
Street Boss heads the Seymour roster at $66,000, the same fee as last year, while Cylinder also remains unchanged at $44,000 with Brazen Beau ($27,500), Kermadec ($13,750) and Paulele ($11,000) the others standing at Northwood Park.
