Benalla meeting moved to Wangaratta after unexpected rain

Tuesday’s racing at Benalla has been rescheduled following unexpected rainfall, which left the track unsuitable for racing.

Racing Victoria confirmed the 15mm of overnight rain led to a wet patch at the 1000-metre mark, prompting the decision to relocate the meeting.

The event will now take place at Sportsbet-Wangaratta on Thursday, 13 March.

Nominations will reopen with a 3pm Tuesday deadline, and acceptances will be taken by 9am Wednesday.

Horses that were final acceptors for Tuesday’s meeting will receive ballot preference. They also have the option to nominate for other races at Kilmore, Cranbourne, and Geelong later in the week.
