Bangaloe Stud has strengthened its growing broodmare band after securing stakes-winning mare Arctic Glamour for $640,000 at Wednesday’s Inglis Digital July (Late) Sale.
Purchased by Julia Ritchie, the former Gerald Ryan and Sterling Alexiou-trained mare was the top-priced lot of the online auction.
A daughter of former Darley shuttle stallion Frosted, Arctic Glamour retires to stud with an outstanding racetrack record that includes victory in the Group 2 Hot Danish Stakes and a placing behind Lazzura in the Group 1 Coolmore Classic.
She is also a half-sister to Group 3 winner Waging War and is out of Fartoo Flashy, a daughter of the legendary European sire Galileo.
The rising six-year-old will join an increasingly high-quality Bangaloe Stud broodmare roster that already features mares including Coeur Volante, Thalassophile and Complicit.
Ritchie has been particularly active in the bloodstock market this year, also securing breeding rights in champion stallions Anamoe and Extreme Choice.
The second-highest-priced lot in the Inglis Digital sale was stakes-winning broodmare Monegal, who realised $260,000 when purchased by Sheralee Racing.
Monegal is in foal to Golden Slipper-winning sire Stay Inside, adding further appeal to her pedigree page for her new connections.
