Alligator Blood is gearing up for his long-awaited return to racing next month following a smooth trial at Warwick Farm on Friday morning.
This was the eight-year-old’s first trial in 15 months, and his first under new trainer Chris Waller.
Jockey Tim Clark kept the Group 1 star within himself, not asking for a full effort during the sharp 795-metre trial.
After seeing Pride Of Jenni successfully return to the track in the G2 Peter Young Stakes at Caulfield, Alligator Blood is being primed for his own comeback after extensive rehabilitation from a tendon injury.
The G1 All Aged Stakes at Randwick on April 19 is now the target for his return, marking 18 months since his last race.
Previously trained by Gai Waterhouse, Adrian Bott, and David Vandyke, Alligator Blood has earned nearly $9.3 million in prize money. His last outing was a third-place finish in the 2023 G1 Champions Mile.
