The Cox Plate and the AFL GF could be scheduled for the same day
Talks a of a bye round prior to the AFL finals series has put the date for the Cox Plate in jeopardy with the two feature sporting events now on a collision course.
The Moonee Valley Racing Club are set to wait for the AFL to release their finals and grand final dates prior to cementing a date for this years Cox Plate with talks of a bye round meaning the two would be both on October 24th.
The MVRC do not want to go head to head with the the AFL and are in discussions for options for their feature race meeting of the year if the AFL Grand Final is to be played on October 24th.
The AFL are yet to make an official decision with the association likely to cement a date in coming weeks.
