Connections have decided to pay the late entry fee of $200,000 to enter their horse Black Heart Bart into Saturday’s Cox Plate.
The ex Darren Weir galloper who is now trained by Lindsay Smith has made a miraculous return to racing after suffering what was said to be a career ending injury in last years Toorak Handicap.
The 9YO returned to winning form two starts ago winning the Underwood Stakes and backed it up with a close second to fellow Cox Plate contender Cape Of Good Hope in the G1 Caulfield Stakes.
Black Heart Bart was a $26 chance in Cox Plate odds prior to the announcement.
