A jockey in France has cost punters and connections a certain win after mistaking the winning post.
Jockey Maximilien Justum was riding Last Bright at Vichy in the ninth event on Saturday morning and looked to have the race all but won until he mistook the winning post and eased down the horse with 200m to go.
Once the jockey realised what he had done he managed to get the horse going again with Last Bright just missing on the line to run a close second.
Over $3,000 was matched on Last Bright at $1.01 prior to the blunder.
