A protest at Swan Hill on Tuesday has left punters scratching their heads after stewards failed to uphold a protest for what looked to be a clear breach of the whip rules.
Jockey Teodore Nugent fired in a protest following race 2 at Swan Hill after his mount Yesmeena finished runner up to the Steven Vella-ridden gelding Yoshi Mokuyo.
Nugent, who lost the race by 0.3 of a length, called Vella out on what looked to be an obvious case of excessive use of the whip.
Despite the damning evidence, stewards dismissed the protest leaving punters bemused by the decision and the whip rule as a whole.
