Three year old, Flying Crazy, produced a performance at randwick on debut that was reminiscent of the great chautauqua’s miracle 3rd tj smith stakes win at the same track.
Remember the name – Flying Crazy!!!!!
Flying Crazy trained by Gerald Ryan and Sterling Alexiou and ridden by jay ford produced a finished the had to be seen to be believed. He was nearly a dozen lengths last on the corner of the Randwick/Kensington track before unleashing an earth shattering final 400m effort.
There’s little doubt based on the debut effort that the horse is a potential Group 1 superstar of the future, whether or not it’s as soon as this spring, in his first racing preparation or further down the line only time will tell – but seeing is believing.
Flying Crazy is a new season 3 year old gelding, sired by brilliant Group 1 sprinter Flying Artie out of Forever Crazy an Eencosta De Lago mare.
The gelding was at $101 with sportsbet to win the Golden Rose prior to the win but he’s now into $34.
His odds have also been slashed in the caulfield guineas where he holds a nomination with sportsbet moving from $151 into $51 for the classic 3yo race at the heath.
Whilst trainer Gerald Ryan isn’t getting carried away saying he’s “only won a maiden” it seems inevitable the horse will run in the 2021 Golden Rose but Ryan stated he doubted the horse would run a strong mile and hence is an unlikely runner in the Caulfield Guineas.
