A rugby league TV show a couple of months ago, showcased the singing talents of representative rugby league footballer, Dale Finucane.
And with guitar in hand, he was outstanding.
This year he was named Melbourne Storm Player Of The Year also.
When he performed Lewis Capaldi’s, Someone You Loved on the Matty Johns Show, it sent social media into meltdown. Already 35,000 views of his performance on YouTube have followed.
Well, move over big fella, because there’s a little fella in town who can sing too…maybe even better.
He is Sydney’s champion apprentice jockey Robbie Dolan.
And on TV last night, he was asked to sing a refrain of the classic Eagles song, Desperado.
Looking a tad bemused, he lifted a glass of water to his mouth, kinda sorta then had to acquiesce the request and so he began.
There was no standing up in front of a microphone, or time to warm his tonsils up – just sitting there, on the couch, unprepared after host Tim Gilbert nudged him into it, Dolan sang. And he was absolutely faultless.
Pitch-perfect, despite nerves showing, he just sailed through it so perfectly he received a massive round of applause.
It too is now on social media courtesy of Sky Racing.
And should be listened to.
The ATC should get this young man to sing a tune or two and play it at the races.
He is that good.
