It was a race callers worst nightmare when heavy fog descended over the Goodwood course in the UK overnight.
Despite it being near impossible to see a thing until the final moments of each race, the 8-race meeting went ahead leaving the race caller clueless as to what was happening for the majority of each race.
“Just imagine the Summer picture, combine harvesters, patchwork fields over on the far side of the downs, the sea behind us twinkling away.” The race caller said.
“It’s a lovely sunny day really, in our imaginations.”
Punters were also left scratching their heads when the odds-on favourite in the second race on the card reportedly failed to leave the barriers and was deemed to have been a runner despite there being no vision of the incident.
