Sir John Hawkwood has reportedly been retired immediately following his run in the $6.2million Melbourne Cup.
Blake Spriggs rode the 8-year-old in the today’s Melbourne Cup where the G1 Metrop winner ran 18th, 20 lengths behind winner Almandin.
Sir John Hawkwood amassed more than $1.1million throughout his career with his feature win coming in the G1 Metropolitan.
