Do you come from a horse/racing family?
Yes, my Dad is a jockey.
Did you always want to be a jockey?
Yep, never gave another job a thought.
What is your first racing memory?
Going to the races to my watch my Dad with my grandparents.
Who is your favourite horse and why?
Lonhro – he was the first really good horse I remember and I used to have photos of him on my wall as a kid growing up; I can never get sick of watching his Australian Cup win.
Who is the best horse you’ve ridden?
Didn’t get to ride him in a race but did ride Le Romain in trackwork; he was a very good horse
And the best horse you have seen?
Winx.
Your favourite racing moment?
My first Group 1 win in the Sydney Cup (Explosive Jack).
Best ride of another jockey you have seen?
Jamie Spencer on Sariska 2009 Irish Oaks.
Is there a ride you wish you could do again?
Plenty!
Which horse currently racing would you love to be riding?
Ka Ying Rising.
Which horse from the past would you love to have ridden?
Makybe Diva.
Do you think horses know they have won?
Yep.
If you could time travel into a past racing moment what would it be?
Makybe Diva’s third Melbourne Cup.
What do you love about racing?
How unexpected it can be – and the relationship you can build with a 500kg animal is pretty good.
What is one change/improvement you’d love to see in racing?
Leaving the rail in the true position every meeting.
What’s the funniest moment you’ve experienced in racing?
Probably the dribble me, Zac Tyler and a few of the other young boys get up to in the rooms!
What is your favourite pastime outside of racing?
Golf.
What is your favourite T.V show/movie?
TV show would be Peaky Blinders or Prison Break, movie – Wolf Of Wall Street or Seabiscuit.
Best concert you’ve seen?
Coldplay.

Keep your circle small – a two seater goes faster then a bus.

If you had not been a jockey what would you have done?
Might’ve given being a professional soccer player a go.
