The Caulfield Sprint is a Group 2 open race held under handicap conditions. This event takes place at the Caulfield Racecourse, and has been an important part of the spring racing carnival since 1983. Raced over a distance of 1100 metres, the Caulfield Sprint normally attracts a high quality field of sprinters.

2011 Caulfield Sprint Result
The Caulfield Sprint is held on the same day as the prestigious Caulfield Cup, towards the end of the famous three day carnival. Some of the fastest horses to have won this event include Toledo, who had back to back victories in 1997 and 1998, and Jet Spur, who clocked the fastest time of 1:02.1 seconds in 2005. Other well known winners include Schillaci in 1994, Notoire in 1999, Rubitano in 2002, Biscayne Bay in 2006 and 2008, First Command in 2009, and Sepoy in 2011.
The Caulfield Sprint started its life back in 1983, although it has been known by a couple of different names in this time, including the VATC Schillaci Stakes, the MRC Perri Cutten Sprint, and most recently in 2011 as the MRC Tristarc Stakes. The Caulfield Sprint changed from a Listed event to a Group 3 race in 1993, graduating to a Group 2 event in 1999.
The 2011 edition of the Caulfield Sprint was won by Sepoy, who coasted to the line ahead of Curtana in second position and Mid Summer Music in third.
