Carnival Preview Day takes place this weekend at Caulfield Racecourse, 21 September 2013. This exciting day allows racing lovers to get an early taste of the Spring thoroughbred action, with a number of quality races and other entertainment to look forward to.

The highlight of the day is the Group 1 Underwood Stakes, with eight supporting races and the Chadstone Fashion Stakes also part of the program.

While the $400,000 Underwood Stakes is definitely the centrepiece event of Carnival Preview Day, there are four Group races held throughout the day; including the Group 2 Schweppes Thousand Guienas Prelude worth $175,000, Group 3 D’Urban Naturalism Stakes worth $150,000, and Group 3 Sportingbet Sprint Series Heat 2 Stakes worth $150,000.

Race 9 – Hyland Race Colours Underwood Stakes – 16:55

The Chadstone Fashion Stakes is one of the major highlights on the Australian fashion calendar and a big part of Carnival Preview Day, with a number of different categories featured including Stylish Ladies 18 – 40 Years, Stylish ladies 40+ years and Stylish Gentlemen. Along with the racing and fashion, there is also a lot of free family entertainment taking place throughout the day, including Pony Rides, Inflatable Horse Track, Jumping Castle, High Striker, Camp Australia Activities, and Face Painting.

Admission for 2013 Carnival Preview Day is free, with a number of dining options also available.
