Trainer Lisa Whelan has scored her first winner and landed a sizeable plunge at Warrnambool on Thursday when her first runner in her own name Wazuzu won.
Wazuzu opened at $31 with Sportsbet before a flood of money saw the out of form stayer jump at $7.50 and land the money for his backers.
Former jockey Lisa Whelan made the move to Australia from New Zealand in 2012 in which she rode a double at Flemington at her first meeting before retiring from the saddle on Caulfield Cup day in 2015.
