Country Cup racing in Victoria continues this Saturday via the Wangaratta Cup (2000m).

2025 Wangaratta Cup Runner Preview:
1. Mostly Cloudy: The best horse in the race. But, very interesting placement given he is first up since the Melbourne Cup and you’d think they have eyes on longer/better races, potentially the Andrew Ramsden? He can go around without me.
2. Torranzino: On the back up from the Victoria Cup last Saturday where he was really good in defeat behind a class mare, Deny Knowledge. That is the A1 form…just the back and price are the knocks.
3. Port Guillaume: For a horse that is a jumper, he was very good in the Colac Cup. I don’t think he has the change up speed to win but a must for exotics.
4. Khoekhoe: He’s the one for me. Got control in the Colac Cup and was hailed as the winner. Picaroon just had a better turn of foot. Hoping for control in front and then Carleen gets going around 500m out. Hard fit now, take the dash out of his rivals.
5. Associate: Looked the winner last start in the Highway but was nabbed on the peg by Tapa Kick, who ran well last night at Canterbury. Just not sure he’s up to these.
6. Harmonious Senora: Didn’t do a bad job at The Valley last Friday night but this looks much harder.
7. Nordic Pride: Trials have been solid enough but he’s not winning this first up.

$100 Win Khoekhoe.

Khoekhoe looks to get complete front end control here. Mostly Cloudy and Nordic Pride could slide across from wide gates but really, Khoekhoe can do as he pleases. Harmonious Senora can use an inside gate to advantage.
