Cox Plate champion Via Sistina is heading into the Champions Stakes as the clear favorite, following a stunning performance in one of Australia’s most prestigious weight-for-age races.
“Via Sistina has almost three quarters of the money bet early on her and she’s $1.65 into $1.50 already, so it’s been a complete domination,” TAB’s Gerard Daffy said.
“The signs are there she might even get shorter and that’s come off that absolute annihilation in the Cox Plate, although when you have a look down it’s a pretty decent field.
“Atishu won it last year and of course won last week in the TAB Empire Rose Stakes and it’s at $9.
“We haven’t seen Without A Fight since winning the Caulfield and Melbourne Cup last year, so we put him up at $15 and he’s now at $10 and has remained that way ever since.”
