Every Saturday there are some bad beats for punters but it will be hard to surpass the horror for those who backed the second favourite in the Doomben Roses, after Falkenberg stayed in the barriers when they jumped before finding trouble in the straight, going to the line relatively untested.
Falkenberg made good ground late but her barrier manners and a checkered run gave punters no chance of a collect.
To make it worse for her backers they were given a glimmer of hope when it was announced to hold all tickets to allow stewards a chance to look at the start but after a review Falkenberg was deemed a starter.
Falkenberg finished 7th beaten 3.1L
Falkenberg deemed a runner by stewards in Roses. Horse’s fault. Her manners to blame.
